The President of the United States is the head of state and head of government of the United States. The president leads the executive branch of the federal government and is one of only two nationally elected federal officers, the other being the Vice President of the United States. Among other powers and responsibilities, Article II of the U.S. Constitution charges the president to "faithfully execute" federal law, makes the president commander-in-chief of the United States armed forces, allows the president to nominate executive and judicial officers with the advice and consent of the Senate, and allows the president to grant pardons and reprieves. The president is indirectly elected by the people through the Electoral College to a four-year term. Since 1951, presidents have been limited to two terms by the Twenty-second Amendment. In all, 43 individuals have served 55 four-year terms. On January 20, 2009, Barack Obama became the forty-fourth, and current, president. From Wikipedia under the

Michio Kaku is a scientist and agrees with the scientific consensus on climate change, which seems an obvious contradiction with GOP's public denial of man-made climate change. He's also engaged in a few groups protesting nuclear armament. Doesn't seem like the ideal GOP member. Q. What three things will you do to make America and the World a better place, if you are given the power of the President of United States for just 24 hours, and any decision you take during this period cannot be reverted back? Asked by sainnas - Wed Feb 14 18:21:54 2007 - - 9 Answers - 0 Comments A. Create a constitutional amendment that a Bush could never be president again. Outside of that, refill the cabinet and ambassador appointments with wise and peaceful individuals who understand the art of mediation and peace talks rather than wild cowboy rhetoric.
