Furniture (probably from the French 'fournir' — to provide) is the mass noun for the movable objects ('mobile' in Latin languages) intended to support various human activities such as seating and sleeping in beds, to hold objects at a convenient height for work using horizontal surfaces above the ground, or to store things. Storage furniture such as a nightstand often makes use of doors, drawers, shelves and locks to contain, organize or secure smaller objects such as clothes, tools, books, and household goods. In addition to furniture's functional role, it can serve a symbolic or religious purpose. I have leather in the vehicle i drive and put some cloth seat covers on them. If you have cats they will ruin that leather. I have a cat long haired and she sheds on my furniture. I keep a blanket or sheet where she likes to sleep .. Its hard when you have cats. But i had rather have cloth at least you can use one of those sticky roller brushes and get most of it up.
