Texas State University–San Marcos, often referred to as Texas State University or Texas State (it discourages the use of TSU), is a doctoral granting university located in San Marcos, Texas. At the start of the Fall 2008 semester, the university had a record high enrollment of 29,125 students. This makes it the largest and flagship institution of the Texas State University System, the fifth-largest university in Texas, and one of the 55 largest universities in the United States. In US News and World Report's Best Colleges 2010, Texas State ranked 12th Best Public University in the West and deemed a Tier One institution. Texas State is also the lead school of a multi-institution teaching center offering undergraduate and graduate programs at the Round Rock Higher Education Center (RRHEC) in the greater north Austin area. Additionally, the main campus in San Marcos serves as the location of the fictional school TMU (Texas Methodist University) in the NBC TV series Friday Night Lights. Texas State University is the only university in the state to have a former President of the United States as an alumnus. President Lyndon B. Johnson graduated from what was then Southwest Texas State Teachers College in 1930 with a teaching certificate and a Bachelor of Science in history. In 1965, he returned to Southwest Texas State College, as the school was known then, to sign the Higher Education Act of 1965. From Wikipedia under the

Q. Thanks for everyone who has responded. I have asked people at the College and they all say i will get in but im still nervous i need a really honest opinion of whether i will or not. I really want to go there and have a relatively strong essay but i don't know if my B+ is good enough even with a 1900 SAT. The only college that I see you having trouble with is the McCoy College of Business; their admission requirements are really stringent. You could always get accepted into TSU and then apply to the college of your choice.
